Wendy's Chili Recipe

Growing up, our local Wendy's was the place for the youth to hang out after Sunday night services at our church. They featured a sign that said hot chili, cold frosties. I always thought it was an odd combination, but they actually taste well eaten one after each other. So, I grew up associating chili with Wendy's. When I came across this Wendy's chili recipe, I was happy because it is easy and tastes just like I remember. I like to make some extra hamburgers and crumble them up to give an extra zing to the chili, just like the Wendy's version. From start to finish, this recipe takes about 2 1/2 hours to make, but the prep time is only about 1/2 hour.It takes 2 hours to simmer the chili to bring out the great flavors in the seasonings and ingredients. The only change I made was to add some smoked paprika, which has become my staple spice for any soup. It offers such a tasty smokey flavor. Do you have any stores about enjoy Wendy's chili growing up? If so, share through the comments section!

Original KFC Biscuits Recipe

So, I've already admitted to my bread-a-holic ways, so it should come as no surprise that I love having biscuits with breakfast, lunch and dinner (or any other time that I can squeeze them in). Topped with honey or jelly, biscuits hit the spot every time. One of the best biscuits around are the ones at KFC. Light and flaky, you know they aren't very good for you, but they taste so good, you don't care. I've vowed extra exercise to offset extra helpings of the biscuits on many occasions. The original KFC biscuits recipe take about the same amount of time as any other biscuit recipe to prepare. I usually double or triple the recipe, then store the extras in freezer bags. I've had good luck taking them straight out of the freezer and reheating them. They loose a little bit of texture in the process, but the taste remains the same. To make the biscuits, you only need flour, salt, sugar, milk, baking powder and shortening. Allow several hours if you plan to make a big batch, mainly for the time to cut out and bake the biscuits in batches.

Ninety Nine's Panko Crusted Cod Recipe

I was browsing one of my favorite copy cat recipe sites, copycatrecipeguide.com and came across this recipe for Ninety Nine's Panko Crusted Cod, so I decided to give it a try. There aren't any Ninety Nine restaurants near us, so I haven't tried out this dish at the restaurant, but it sounded good. I'm also not very experienced in using cod, but I love using Panko bread crumbs- especially to make a great baked "fried" chicken. The dish required me to make a run to the grocery store because it needs so many ingredients, including two types of alcohol. The prep tie isn't horrible, but there is a bit of chopping. In the end, the dish was worth it. It has a great flavor and a great flaky texture. My family enjoyed it, but I think I will save this dish for a special occasion, such as a dinner party or a celebration rather than try to get it ready for a nightly meal. It is just too much work for hectic school nights. Don't forget the artichoke quarters or sun-dried tomatoes! They were my favorite part of the whole dish!

Texas Roadhouse Tater Skins Recipe

It's football season and that means more appetizer recipes are needed! Around our house, potatoes skins have always been a favorite. Last time we went to Texas Roadhouse, we tried their tater skins appetizer and it was SO good. I found a recipe on how to make Texas Roadhouse tater skins, so I had to try it out. The key is to use fresh potatoes, sharp cheddar cheese and fresh bacon bits (not the store canned variety). Awesome is one word that was mentioned multiple times the last time I served this recipe. Anytime you can get a football fan in Alabama to comment on anything during the game other than the plays, the refs or the players, you have accomplished something mighty. I'll put this recipe in my permanent collection to pull out every football season! I did increase the garlic powder and cayenne pepper a bit and used an Italian seasoning blend, rather than just oregano and it was perfect. Do you have any other suggestions?

Texas Roadhouse Sweet Potatoes with Honey Caramel Sauce Receipe

Sweet potatoes are so tasty, I like to use them as a dessert. As an added benefit, they have lots of vitamins that makes it an easy treat for my family. Texas Roadhouse is aware of this special treat too. They serve their Texas Roadhouse sweet potatoes with a honey caramel sauce topping or cinnamon butter as desired. I love both versions. If you have never made baked sweet potatoes, they are just as easy as baked potatoes, but the taste and flavor of the sweet potatoes is indescribably good. They are best served warm, straight out of the oven. The Texas Roadhouse recipe is easy and tastes similar to the sweet potato casserole found at almost any potluck. It features miniature marshmallows, honey, butter and brown sugar. Super easy and tasty, my family was super happy with this recipe and have requested it several times since I made it the first time. I'm now buying more sweet potatoes than I am regular potatoes. I substituted a butter substitution one time and it taste the same as the full-fat butter version. Have you ever tried this recipe? If so, did you find any modifications that worked well? I added a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg and it really added to the flavor.

Texas Roadhouse Rolls Recipe

I'll admit it. I'm a bread-a-holic. I could never last on the Akins diet for more than a day without going into withdrawals. I often select a recipe based on the quality (and quantity) of bread they provide. Hands down, one of the best rolls served at any restaurant are the ones at Texas Roadhouse. Served straight out of the oven, the rolls are dense with flavor, but fluffy enough to melt in your mouth. They are served with cinnamon butter, but are sweet enough you can devour them all by themselves. So, when I came across this Texas Roadhouse Rolls recipe on copycatrecipeguide.com, I knew I'd have a hit on my hands if they were anywhere near the restaurant's version. They turned out excellent, but they did take a little bit of time to prepare- just like any hand-made rolls. The taste and texture were spot-on. The only problem I have is my family asking for them too often. I doubled the recipe last time so we could have some to heat up. If you like rolls as much as I do, definitely give this recipe a try, you won't be disappointed.

Texas Roadhouse Rice Recipe

I've been a big rice fan since I was little. For after-school snacks, my mom would make rice at my request. My mom would boil rice in a big pot of water, then drain it. As I've been learning about how rice is used in other cultures, I quickly found that most places fry the rice in a bit of oil, then steam it for more flavor. This second method is used in the Texas Roadhouse Rice recipe. It has such a good flavor, that you could easily just chop up a little chicken and add it to the rice for a terrific main dish. They use chicken stock, soy sauce, garlic and butter to really bring the flavor home. While the calorie content on this rice is not for the dieting bunch, the flavor it so delicious, that it could easily grace a Thanksgiving table. I've swapped the butter in this recipe with a heart-healthy butter substitute and it came out great. It already usually a good bit of cayenne pepper, so I didn't have to change anything else. The parsley is pretty, but I think I'll try to use cilantro next time for even more flavor. How do you like to cook your rice? do you think beef stock would change the flavor much? Let me know through your comments.
